Default Ophthalmologist

Looking for a reputable Ophthalmologist in the Reston/Sterling/Ashburn area. Eventually, I'm hoping to qualify for Lasik, however, I have a strong astigmatism & am VERY nearsighted. Don't want to end up in a cattle call Lasik factory if my eyes aren't a good candidate. Also, my DS needs to have an eye exam, & I prefer starting him out w/an MD vs. Optometrist. TIA

I don't have a recommendation for you, but for your son... My daughter has seen Dr. Kern at Arlington-Loudoun Pediatric Ophthalmology (http://arlingtonloudounpediatricophthalmology.com/index.php - broken link) in Sterling. She's great with kids and has a good reputation; she's been on Washingtonian Magazine's Top Doctors list.

Dr Boutros, Eye Center in Sterling (on Ridgetop Circle across from Costco)

I've taken my mom to him every three months for almost ten years. She has cataracts and glaucoma, both of which have stayed stable since. One thing I like about him is he doesn't push her to get cataract surgery because of her age and because the cataract is small and under control.
