I've noticed that each decade has a 2-3 year transition period. For instance, disco is mainly regarded as 70's, but there were some disco-y songs in the early 80's. Likewise, there were a few "hair bands" still rocking into the 90's. And, a few (not many) grunge bands hung on past 2000.

Any of you Loudoun people play guitar or bass??

I have a beautiful drumset that begs to be played, but I never get to play it anymore since I live in a townhouse now. I miss being in a band, used to play weekend gigs a lot when I was in college.

Oh, I was hoping you'd heard them, since we have similar tastes in music. I liked the video, but that doesn't always mean I'll like the show. Guess I'll just have to go to the state next week and find out for myself.

Is this the Iguanas?

This song has a cool sorta groove. Of course if I like it, that probably means it's too "pop" for you.

I like this video, especially the musicians bopping around in the background. The guy in the orange pants is a trip!

Gonzo's Nose
Gonzo's Nose -- Washington D.C.'s Premier Party Band -- What We Do

they're a cover band that is really good. I saw them twice. Check out their site for show dates around the area.

They'll be at Ned Devine's tomorrow. If you've never been to Ned's it's a fun place. Worth driving through the snow for.

I wonder why so many jazz musicians are named Marcus?

Just searched for some other songs as well. They're not my "favorite" style of music, but I'll certainly have a good time shaking my big fat tuckus around and waving my hands in the air!
