You three each gave me great instructions for the repair and care of my snowblower. I'm delighted to tell you my grandson just finished our driveway and the snowblower works perfectly. So take that Sears, you said you couldn't help me but these three people knew better. Hooray for you guys!

Glad to hear this, and glad to have another validation of why I spend time on city-data. Maybe you should let the site admininstrator know. The people on city-data really are quite a resource of information.

Glad it worked out for you. Those SEARs folks probably just wanted you to buy a new snow blower

LOL, we went to the mall this morning, so I checked out the repair dept. at Sears on the way in. One big truckful of snowblowers, all tagged and waiting to be sent to the repair shop... There must have been at least 10-12.

Like I told somebody else...stay AWAY from any machine made by MTD, which Sears usually is. Some Sears blowers may be made by Murray, which is junk too.

The good ones are Honda, Ariens, Simplicity, and Toro.

Timely advice. We're buying a snowblower now that we've moved into the new house. I was going to go to Sears, but now I'm looking for a place that sells Toros.
