I wear a watch at work and if I'm on a time constraint running errands, otherwise, if it's a laid-back day, there's a clock in the car.

I usually wear one during the week, not on weekends. It's a fairly expensive watch that my husband got me a few years ago so I would feel guilty NOT wearing it, lol!

LOL, I know the feeling. I have a beautiful watch my husband got me years ago. I wear it for special occasions. (I still use the cell phone to tell time because the watch is kind of hard to read. ) But I put it on because it's pretty and besides you've got to show appreciation when someone gets you a really nice gift like that.

I still can't break my habit of "collecting" watches - I like to use them as fashion items also.

I used to wear a watch all the time, but then, I used to be a workaholic as well.

About 6 months prior to retirement, I stopped wearing a watch. I don't know - I guess it was a way to signal a big change coming to my life.

So, for the last 2+ years, I have not had a watch on my wrist, and just like work, I don't miss it a bit. There are a number of clocks in the house, and I have my cell phone with me and turned on when I'm away from home (but only then, otherwise it's off).

It's nice, being watch-free.

Do people in Nova still wear watches?

I haven't worn a watch for years, but maybe it's because I'm retired. If I need to know what time it is I can look at my cell phone. Or the computer screen. Or a hundred other places. The watch was irritating my wrist and I didn't really use it, so I stopped wearing it. Am I typical--or are watches essential in a metro area that's definitely not laid back?
I don't know anyone who doesn't wear a watch. I never take mine off, except to bathe. Digging my cell phone out of my purse takes much more effort than looking at my wrist.

The only time I wear a watch is when I leave the country----my cell phone doesn't work overseas, and I only travel outside of the country for pleasure. I never liked jewelry anyway.

All you have to do is Google 'degloving injury' and you'll never wear a watch or a ring again.

I wear a watch everyday and like someone else said, it feels funny when I'm not wearing one. I've always worn a watch since I was in school and could read time.

I don't have a collection of watches or anything extravagant. It's just a nice Citizen watch I got years ago. It's titanium so weighs next to nothing and also solar powered so I won't have to replace the battery anytime soon. The band is scratched up because I wear it all the time (including working around the house) and it's got some really big gashes when I laid my motorcycle down. It still tells time true and I'll never get rid of it as it's a reminder to wear my riding gear.

I carry a cell phone too, but it's just easier to glance at my watch then dig out the cell phone. Watches are more classy and timeless too. A cell phone is outdated soon as it's released
