This weekend looks like a doozie. Should I wait another day or two to talk about that one?

Tonight's snow is merely annoying, but I'm really sweating the talk about the weekend! My in-laws are coming to town, and I can't imagine being snowed in with them all weekend...there isn't enough vodka in Russia...

(I actually like my in-laws, but in smaller doses!)

Plus, my husband and I get like 2 date nights per year and we were supposed to have one during the big storm in December. We postponed it due to the weather, and rescheduled for...this weekend. If I don't get my darn date night this time, I might just lose my freaking mind!

I am pretty much losing my mind. So much for global warming. Seriously looking to relocate earlier than five years.. Maybe I can spend the day dreaming about that!

LOL, last time we talked this way I suggested escaping to the Grand Caymans. Then the next week Haiti had an earthquake. And Santa Barbara had worse weather than we had. I guess there is no place to escape!

The CBS weatherman said something about "not being able to leave the house" for the upcoming weekend storm. Hmmmm...maybe I should go out and restock the pantry. Frankly it sounds bad, I have a friend who plans to fly on Saturday -- sounds like she will have difficulties getting out.

well just hoping VDOT keeps 66 then 81 clear on Saturday, we are heading out mid-morning on our way to TN for the weekend, then off on Monday to NM. Thank goodness DH knows how to drive in the snow

I cannot believe that Arlington cancelled schools altogether today, I expected a 2 hour delay but not for them to cancel for the day. My boys are excited tomorrow is their last day of school, I wanted to have an extra weekday to make sure the schools got everything together. This way if they screw up I can at least nag them to death on Friday to get all the boys paperwork done.

scranbarre, are you planning on moving back to PA anytime soon? I think I want to wait until you leave NOVA before I come back since you like to bribe the wholly bear. LOL

I'm pretty cranky about schools being closed today. Especially where I live...I understand that some students in Fairfax schools have quite a way to travel, but the City of Falls Church is all of 2 miles square. There really is no reason that students here couldn't get to school.

I'm cranky because we were supposed to have a meeting at the school about my son this morning. Now it will be put off, and I start a new job on Monday so getting to a rescheduled meeting will be a real challenge. The folks from the school that I talked to yesterday were not thrilled about the idea of rescheduling, either. They're very busy as it is, and every time they lose a whole day like this they just get further behind.

I would have been fine with a delayed opening, but this full closing is sure annoying!

I told my son today that "don't worry, we'll move to So Cal hopefully soon.. And if their weather gets terrible, we can always go to Mexico" LOL He hates snow almost as much as we do. He'll play in it for an hour and then won't go anywhere near it. You should've seen my DH (Californian) shovel up the driveway this morning, trying to find his car. I wanted to take a picture of his grumpy face but he looked pretty seriously ticked off.

So this weekend is moving day for you guys, ajzjmsmom? Bummer--boy you guys haven't caught a break this whole year. I'm really sorry your taste of Nova was this winter. Hope the move goes well. Maybe it will be handy to have your sons home today--put them to work packing boxes! Stay in touch, and it was nice having you here.

By the way... just curious what ajzjmsmom stood for. Acronym for a favorite saying maybe?

Ditto athousandlogins. I had a meeting with a parent this morning as well and now have to reschedule. I can't say I was thrilled to have the meeting in the first place and prolonging it seems worse.

The only good news is that I get an extra day to rest having been diagnosed with a sinus infection yesterday. Now if I can just get ahold of the neighbor girl to see if she wants to take my 5yo sledding! I'm not in the mood to trudge out in the snow with a 5yo and 1yo to sled today.
