I need help ASAP please!!! My husband's birthday is in 2 weeks and I'm planning a surprise party. I was hoping to rent our condo's clubhouse only to find out today it's booked till March. Does anyone know any really nice place (maybe a lounge) I could rent for a party. We will have about 50 guests. We live in Fairfax City, but any place in Fairfax County will be great.

Thanks.

2 weeks! Most places need a couple months in advance. Try Maggiano's in Tysons or some restaurant that is use to having corporate parties. Maybe a hotel.

Also check with the local fire departments. Many rent their halls out. At least in neighboring Prince William Co. they do.

We've been to a party at RiRa in Arlington, they have a private room in the back. But it was more about drinks than food, not a sit down affair.

Maybe the FCPA Hall? I went to a party there in Jan.

PJ Skiddos in Fairfax might be able to rent out a room, but probably not the whole place.

Try Mango Mike's in Alexandria. Like PJ Skidoo's, they will have a private party room. Of course, you'll have to purchase a per-person party platter from them as well.

Dolce Vita on Lee Highway in Fairfax City has a private party building that holds about 40-50 people.

As the PPs have suggested, many area restaurants can make accommodations for a group that size to dine privately. Call up your favorite restaurants, let them know your basic plans and your budget, and ask them what they can do for you.

Fair warning, though: It kinda sounds like you're looking at Valentine's weekend. Is that correct? If you are, then you'll have little luck finding a restaurant that can host a sizable group at this late date.
