Did he get the $10,000?

A friend of ours is coming to pick us up to go out for breakfast. Figured we could get out before the next snow comes. She has an AWD SUV and just called...got stuck in the snow.

drove route 7 from Round Hill to Leesburg last night - mostly clear. Roads in downtown Leesburg covered in a couple of inches of ice/packed snow. No salt or sand in sight. Do you Virginians not believe in salt?

Normally they spread salt/abrasives with reckless abandon around here...I think they must have run out. Or they're saving it for the "big one"...LOL

You think Virginia is bad. See this article from last years snowstorm in Seattle. Local News | Seattle refuses to use salt; roads "snow packed" by design | Seattle Times Newspaper

Trees falling across roads are going to add to the problem Wednesday. I think a lot of them will be going over, so be alert. The high winds are the last thing we need, but looks like we'll have them all day.

I don't believe they do. I'm still waiting for North Shore Drive in Reston to be plowed of the few inches of slushy crud in the travel lanes, let alone be SALTED!

That's what I was thinking honestly, maybe they are saving for after this next storm but hoenstly there was alot of melt today happening near me so maybe they did put some down. I saw some sand around near Middleburg and maybe even a touch on our little road. Hopefully downtown Leesburg had a bit of melt happening today too.

Then to top it off, yesterday there were plumbing problems and now we have no water. I'm camping in my own apartment. The power company has no ETA for when the power might be fixed. I'm starting to get pretty frustrated.
Hope they have restored your power! No electricity is bad, but no water turns UGLY very fast! Been there, and don't want to repeat it. Crossing my fingers for all of us that power and water will not fail, or will be restored fast!
