We love the Leesburg area and were surprised there is no Catholic schools in the area. Does anyone know if there are any planned schools? Catholic High schools seem to be all close to the beltway, so driving would be impossible.

Thank you for your thoughts

Some of the Catholic schools provide bus service. Look at Bishop O'Connell and Paul VI.

There was Notre Dame Academy in Middleburg - but they broke with the Diocese and are now called Middleburg Academy. They are no longer considered a Catholic school.

The Diocese owns some land near South Riding that was slated for a new high school. They have been planning two new schools for years; the first, Pope John Paul the Great, is in Prince William County (Dumfries). It opened in fall 2008. The 2002 Capital Campaign helped fund that school, and also gave preliminary funding for the high school in Loudoun. I haven't heard anything recently, but you could contact the Office of Planning, Construction, and Facilities to see if they have more information. It certainly won't be built anytime soon.

One day...

It was a toss-up between the new one in Prince William County and putting it in Loudoun. Prince William won that battle so the next one will go in Loudon.

My oldest child went to Paul VI. Check them for bus service (they provided and still provide bus service to Prince William County--I bet they have something for Loudoun). We were very happy there.
