I have some meetings down at the Fairfax County Govt. Center next month and thought I'd do a photo tour of the area while I was down there. Any suggestions of places I should take photos of. I'm somewhat familiar with the area, but not a lot.

So far, I figured I'd shoot the Govt. Center, Wegmans, the shopping plaza that has REI, some typical condos, the frisbee/dog statue. And I thought I might drive down a random residential street and shoot some of the homes. Any other suggestions?

Is the dog statue you mentioned the one outside the Pender veterinary clinic on Legato Rd.? (We used to take our ratties there. )

As far as photo suggestions, is Rocky Run Park anything special? (I don't know anything about it - just noticed that it looks big and is sort of in that general area.) Oh.. apparently it's mostly a trail along (Little?) Rocky Run Stream.

And maybe Ox Hill Battlefield Park - from http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/oxhill/, "Ox Hill Battlefield Park is the site of the only major Civil War engagement in Fairfax County."

I like the fountains on Fair Lakes Parkway. The houses in Greenbriar (right onto Stringfellow from Fair Lakes Parkway) might be worthy since they are so close to Fair Lakes Parkway. That's all I can think of right now.

No, it's at the corner of Fair Lakes Parkway and Fair Lakes Circle....near the Jared's jewelry store.

This is what I think of when I think of Fair Lakes:

Wal-Mart
Target
Kohl's
BJ's

Is there more to that area? ;-)
