Curious what others are paying for braces in NoVa. We are looking at $6100 for my 12 year old. I am going to get a few most opinions but I imagine this is a fairly typical price. We are in Burke.

Anyone care to share how much they pay? We have 4 kids so this is going to add up big time!!

That actually seems high to me. We have five kids. Two that had braces, one still in braces, and two more that will need them in the next couple of years.

Our insurance pays 1/2...thank goodness. But I think the total cost without insurance was closer to $4,000 per child. I guess it depends on the severity of the problem.

I live in the Woodbridge area which might be a tad cheaper. I just got my last child out of braces. He had a LOT of work done. My first three quotes were all at about $5100-$5300. Same with my daughter. I was then told to go visit this other ortho that doesn't seem to be in "league" with the other orthos. He proposed the SAME EXACT corrective measures, yet only charged me about $3700. So, I've used him twice with fabulous results.

Shop around.

That does seem high. My DS went into braces last October and his treatment is around $4500 for upper & lower braces. His Orthodontist is in Ashburn - we are very happy w/him & his practice.

Default Make use of the Flexible Spending Account.

It cost $6800 for Invisalign braces for my spouse. Metal braces were around $4500. The insurance covered only $2000 so we added the balance to our Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and the final cost came to around $3500 for Invisalign braces after calculting the savings due to FSA.

Regards,
K

My wife had Invisalign also and I think it was around $5,000. Our insurance only covered $1,000 of that.

Sounds about right to me. We paid $6300 for each daughter, less $1500 each from insurance.

yes it's high.
Phase I aprox 2000-2500
Phase II full upper and lower metal right around $5000

(prices reflect ortho done in PA, VA(ashburn) and TX!)

ALL ortho should give you a free consultutation with photos etc.... I usually get 4-5 done and compare not only the prices but diagnosis. (3 kids...3 moves.... I've been through this a few times!!)
