My husband and I will be starting jobs in Falls Chrich and Bolling later this summer and have been focusing on the Alexandria area as a pretty central point. (My job in Falls Church is not close to a metro from what I have been told). We have seen some possible townhomes in the Kingstowne area and aslo in Springfield. The milage is not all that different but I don't know what the actual traffic/commute issues between the two areas will be. I appreciate any thoughts/advice/opinions on these options.
Thanks..

I am heading up to look at some places again this weekend but my problem doing this on the weekends only is that I don't get a good feel of the weekday traffic. We really like the Kingstowne area but have not seen a townhouse we really like there just yet. We have seen a possible place in Springfield (area code 22153) and another in the 22310 zip code. Is the commute really that different from those zip codes to Falls Church or Bolling from these areas?
Thanks...

Hello Irish Eyes -- The weekday commmute during rush hour can ber very strenuous, but if you can work out flex hours, then it could be VERY manageable to your family. To get to Bolling from either Alexandria or Springfiled, your husband will have to go on the 495 and cross the Wilson Bridge which always has a level of unknown due to the sheer volume of traffic that goes through there as well as ongoing construction in the area. With a free and traffic clear drive, it should be about 25 - 35 minutes, but this is very unpredictable. I believe your commute to Falls Church will be more manageable since you will be doing some cross county travel and could maybe figure out a route that avoids the 95/495 experience if you choose Springfield. Lots of luck to you in your move. JP
