Post New Commuter Bus From Loudoun To Tysons Corner

Loudoun will be beginning a direct bus route from 2 new park-and-rides beginning in June of 2010. Since so many people commute to the Tysons area for work (in fact, I think more than any other northern VA area) this will really help cut back on traffic.

One lot will be in Broadlands South (part of Ashburn) and the other in Leesburg near the end of the Greenway. There is currently a park and ride in Dulles. There will be 7 trips in the morning and 7 in the evening.

For those who work in Tysons but don't want to live in the congestion or for those who simply hate the daily commute... this could be your redemption at around $3 a ride.

Awesome news...good for Loudoun County!! I think $3 is a very fair price. 7 morning trips is also very ambitious (and great), as it practically matches the number of VRE trips into DC from Manassas and Fredericksburg (8 and 6, respectively - not including Amtrak).

Awesome!! Thanks for sharing this. Great news indeed and the price isn't bad at all.

I'll certainly give this a try. I've taken the commuter bus to West Falls Church Metro Station and it was much better than driving in traffic (as long as you don't have to wait for the bus in bad weather).
