Manassas-good neighborhoods vs. iffy ones?

I would like to do some input as well regarding Irongate. Bought my home in '96 for 74k,quiet neighborhood,black and white,I thought I would live there for ever,than end of the 90 it turned into a drug neighborhood mainly by the blacks,then early 2000 Latinos overtook the hood,property prices went thru the roof in 2004 2006 ,homes going for 300k+,mainly investment rental properties bought by Pakistanis,than 2008 2011 properties fell to under 100k, and turned into slum Mexican area.
The HOA was doing nothing but embaseling money, top chief thief Wendy,she probably still is on the board,
Cops would not do anything about the crime problem nor the administrative body of PW county,they kept raising property taxes,a 50 year old 70k townhouse real value had a $2200 property tax sticker a year,after 16 years I decided to move on and leave this sh-ty neighborhood and town of Manassas, sh-thole of America? Now I am a happy man somewhere in Europe,away from the so called land of the free where everyone is being subjugated to the NSA protocol.

Based on your last line I wasn't even going to waste my time but what the heck. If you think drugs came into Irongate at the end of 90 (I assume you mean 90's) then you're sadly mistaken. Drugs have been an issue in Irongate well before I started with the county in 79. And the county police worked hard in this neighborhood to help clean it up but too many of the residents were involved in the drug trade making it a difficult process. Plus, back in the crack epidemic there were so many neighborhoods infested that resources were constantly spread thin. Btw. Glad you're in Europe now.
