is there any new developments in fredericksburg that are near the mall area
Also, we are thinking about the area Lake of the Woods, but it just seems SO far away from everything. Do most people get used to it after a while if your used to the city?..........
We were also looking for new deverlopments near Mall area, but cant find many. Can you reccomend anything or any nice areas ? What do you think of Wilderness Shores area is that really far out there...Thanks so much !
Sorry for so many questions....Thanks !

Umm... I replied to your other thread, but in short, if you want to be close to everything, try looking at Idlewild (The section behind the Home Depot east of I-95) You can't get much closer to everything, and it's a pretty nice community as well.

Hey Sandy -- Fredericksburg is a booming area right now, and your choices are many. Idlewood is a good choice. There is also Salem Fields a few minutes away from Idlewood which has a variety of choices ranging from townhomes for rent and for sale, and single family homes, both ranchers and colonials. It has great community ammenities and both an elementary and middle school, as well as a shopping center, within walking distance. Feel free to email me back or give me a call if you have any questions. Lots of luck to you! JP

Sandy - You hit the nail on the head when you asked if people get used to the drive to Lake of the Woods! And the answer is yes! I recently sold a house out there, and the first time I went, it seemed to take forever! But after a month, it was like an old hat - a perfect fit! I would say it is about 23 miles to the LOW gate from the I95 exit onto Route 3. You are pretty congested until you get to Gordon Road, but then it thins out quite a bit (although with Harrison Crossing developing that will change), and drops off considerably after you pass Orange Plank Road.
As for conveniences, you do have a Bloom grocery store at the gate entrance, along with some other businesses, and there will be a Giant at the aforementioned Harrison Crossing.
You mentioned wanting other recommendations. What exactly are you looking for, i.e. number of bedrooms, detached, townhouse, villa, price range?? Let us know and maybe we can guide you a bit more.

For whatever it's worth LOW gate to 95 is 15 miles.

Where to live in Fredericksburg?
I am also moving to Fredericksburg and will be working close to the 95 & Rt. 3 interchange. We are looking for a neighborhood by good elementary schools with decent sized lots, (1/4 acre +) sidewalks, and priced around 300k. Any suggestions on where to look?

You could also head down route 3 east. There is less traffic going in that direction. I currently live in King George and at first the drive did seem long, but now it seems like nothing! If you are looking for a brand new home, there are a few communities going up that I can send you information on. Feel free to contact me, I'd be happy to help you out if you need it!
