Gorgeous day. Spring break. Easter weekend. Cherry blossoms at peak. Smithsonian Metro station. With children. At rush hour. We survived! Had even gotten a parking space at the Franconia Metro in mid-morning. Just heard on the news that today was Metro's second-highest ridership day ever, second only to the Obama inauguration.

We rode Metro yesterday. It was insane! We came home at rush hour as well, which made it worse, I'm sure. I've never seen the trains as crowded as they were yesterday.

Yes, this past week was quite loathsome on the Metro. Wish I was able to ride my bike but due to my schedule I was not - but even then I would be experiencing the tourons on the paths. Sigh. It is almost over.

Oh wow! Glad you survived. My son is going tomorrow. I hope he survives too! It was a glorious day today!
