*another sigh. Zaxby's Chicken....the strips with the deliciousness of the sauce.

Sonic....tots and a cherry limeade please.

Hardees....oh my gosh...the chicken biscuits in the morning.

We won't be up here forever either. And we move, the first thing I'm going to do is eat real food again. None of this organic, boneless skinless tasteless, granola, hippy food. Real food! (And don't call me a fatty...I'm 5'4 and 110 pounds and a marathoner. I can eat whatever I want!)

I miss fried catfish so much! And real Memphis Bar-b-que. And Waffle House...Scattered and Smothered Please.

And Shipley's Donuts.

See I bet we could create a market here. There are people moving here from the south all the time, right?

You should definitely check it out. If you end up going through NC sometime, you should stop at Biscuitville.

Hardees bought the old Roy Rogers chain here and turned them all into Hardees. Within a few years they had all folded....so been there, done that. Not surprising in that Roy's was SO much better. I still miss my Double R Burgers!

The way people long for Sonic around here, it is inexplicable to me that there isn't one on every corner. My best guess is that they have an "agreement" with somebody...they may be making money by NOT expanding into the DC area...

There may already be a franchisee for NoVA who just hasn't built Sonics here yet. Oftentimes, a franchisee owns the rights to a geographic region but is not ready to build there for a host of reasons. Penetrating a new market is not something they leap into without feeling assured they can compete in that area. Sonic is popular where it already is, but there is no guarantee it will be prosperous in NoVA. The tastes and eating habits of people in NoVA are significantly different than the

We went to Chincoteage last weekend and stopped at Sonic on the way down in Easton, MD and on the way back in Salisbury, MD. My kids love it - I think it's mediocre but quick.

Chocolatelover, my dh loves Buscuitville. When I met him he was living in Greensboro and he made me try them. When we visit my MIL there, he makes us get some to bring home, too.

Shipley's is all over Texas - there's nothing better! And I miss REAL BBQ, too. We actually drove up to Winchester just to have a Sonic Burger & a grape/cherry slushy . NoVA definitely is lacking in the oh so bad for you fast food joints.

Shipley's is the very first place I go when I go home to visit. There is nothing in this world like a warm, Shipley's donut.
