About twice per year, Friends of Fairfax County Libraries presents a Murder Mystery Evening at their various libraries. Staff at various libraries are the "actors" (and quite good, too!) and suspects in the event. Attendees participate by watching the actors, interacting with them, and asking them questions. After the whole presentation, attendees are to guess at who the murderer is (with a group). In addition to participating in a fun, interesting activity, there are refreshments and door prizes (books). The event lasts from 7 PM until 10 PM (or 10:30 PM).

There are about 8 differrent murder mystery stories altogether. I have been to 3 of them (by myself or with a friend), and have had a lot of fun each time. There is no pressure since you are put in a group with others to help solve the mystery. Most of them are pretty unsolvable anyway - that is, any one of the suspects could have done it, so no intimidation if you don't come up with the right answer.

Anyway, there are still openings for the April 24 event at Centreville Library. You don't need to live in Fairfax County to attend. Go to the Fairfax County Library website and look up "Events." Choose "April 24" for the date and find "The Mesa Verde Murder" to sign up.

I'm going with a couple of friends, so if you decide to go, let me know!

That sounds so fun! I have class that day, or I'd sign up in a heartbeat. What a cool thing!
