If the OP is from the actual city of Philadelphia, then Lake Ridge may be a refreshing change. Otherwise, the Philly suburbs are generally as comfortable as any in NOVA if not so consistently upscale.

I am from the western suburbs, not from the city. I'm not aware of much crime here, though I'm sure it exists Thanks for the all the responses, really appreciate it! It's difficult to move to an unfamiliar area.

Hi Jules,

I am from Newtwon Square/Broomall, and there are a few others on here from the Philadelphia area if you need any town in Philly equivalents in NOVA.
