To be honest, I don't consider some of those outlying areas to be part of Northern VA and I don't think most of the residents would either, even if they are considered so "officially." But I think the idea of a subforum is a good one.

So far I'm the only 'no' voter... and my vote was no only because NoVa is a region, and not a city... If you add a NoVa sub-forum, then why not a SouthWestern VA sub-forum? I know it's partially based on need and how much use it would get... but I think a lot of the people looking at NoVa also look at other areas of the state...

But I won't be too upset if NoVa gets a sub-forum, seems like 1 in 3 posts in the VA forum are about the area
:P

NoVA really should be a separate state anyway, hehe.

To play the Devil's Advocate here on this one, I requested a sub-forum for the region of Northeastern Pennsylvania that would encompass Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, and the Pocono Mountains, and my wish was granted. How has it fared thus far? Well, we're already much more popular than the Philadelphia sub-forum, and we're close to eclipsing the Pittsburgh sub-forum now as well to become the most popular sub-forum in Pennsylvania. The new sub-forum for the region of Northeastern Pennsylvania has been very well-received, and I think a Northern Virginia one would be as well.

Give it a shot. It couldn't hurt.
