Just curious. It's weird how many of you post for years and never meet up. One person says that she's never met a person from Pennsylvania but has posted with several PA locals for years. It's a pretty weird dynamic if you think about it. Just wondering.

Yeah, I think that's one of the fascinating things about the internet. I have met several people in person from another message board but not from this one. One of my relatives initially "met" his wife on a message board!

I've had the pleasure of meeting one of my fellow "debbie downers" in person. He turned out to be a really cool guy which is in short supply here. We pretty much talk all the time outside of here.

Now I probably wouldn't want to meet anyone else out this sub-forum since we really don't like each other.

Even though I disagree with both of you on some topics I wouldn't hesitate to sit down and have a drink with you if given the chance. I don't hold grudges.

That's awesome that you meet up with people. Me and some friends kept offering to meet with a guy for a beer that we argued with all the time but he declined. I'll bet that Bigfoot is some big hulk of a cop. The kind that sweats a lot when wearing a uniform (I know he's retired now). Would be really funny to meet some of the online folks.

Thanks for the compliments. It was a great time, and you had an excellent suggestion on Carpool! I liked the one in Ballston much more than the one in Herndon! See! Contrary to popular belief I don't bite (unless you ask me to after dark...grrowwll!) (Slaps self!)

Let's try to keep shooting for Sunday. I have church 11-12, then a hair cut scheduled at 2 PM in Fairfax, but I should be able to head down to Alexandria for 3 PM or 3:30 PM or so to see you off!

I've met several people "in real life" that I first interacted with on a website. God, I think I was 17 the first time I did this, and I'm 31 now and still doing it! In fact, someone I met online is coming to my house tomorrow.

But I've never met anyone from C-D. In part because I don't come here much, at least not compared to my other online activities. So I just don't feel like I "know" anyone here well enough to meet up. I feel like I need to connect with an individual before crossing that line, and I haven't really connected with anyone on C-D. Though I think that could change if I spent more time here.

Carpool in Ballston is indeed a fabulous place.

I've only met one internet person IRL. That was someone from this forum! Turned into a lovely friendship. She's a wonderful person who recently moved to NOVA.
