Hello...

We are looking for a great place to take Senior pics. We live in Springfield so the closer the better. Anyone know of some railroad tracks in the area w/ rail cars? (not metro) Any ideas would be great. She is really into the theatre if you know of some place that has to do with that.

Thanks
Stace

There's a caboose on display in Clifton...and another one at the little RR museum on Fairfax Station Rd (just off Rt 123).

Good ideas, Car 54. Also Hidden Pond Nature Center if you want something outdoorsy. You can rent boats at Lake Accotink and they also have a carousel, as does Burke Lake Park. In fact Burke Lake Park has a mini-train too.

I'll never understand it. We live near beautiful structures that are known world-wide, and people are looking for cabooses to stand in front of. Think about the Lincoln Memorial, either from the steps to get the Washington Monument or back up. Use the reflecting pool and maybe work in the glow of a sunset or the lights that are just coming on. You could use the "fountains" from the WWII Memorial to work into it. Pennsylvania Avenue, the Capitol Bldg, the Shakespeare Theater, inside or outside. The Kennedy Center from on top to with Potomac or Georgetown in background, or inside with the colorful carpet or in the main theater. Wonderful hotels. The Key Bridge. Oh well, you asked for a train, so I'll stop now.
