If I may make a suggestion, I think it would be faster if you drove a car rather than a boat

Well, that really depends on where you are and where you are going...

Anyways...

What do people think about the SE of Falls Church between Lake Barcroft and Holmes Run Stream Valley Park off of Columbia Pike? We might have found a nice 2BR/2.5BA 2-level TH that we are considering in the area. My wife will have flexibility in start and end times so she should be able to skip the worst of rush hour around Seven Corners and if not there are always alternative routes.

Thanks,
Jim

Here we go again. Everytime someone asks about Annandale, I annoy about half the regulars with my opinion.

I LOVE Annandale OUTSIDE the beltway. I do not like Annandale inside the beltway and especially would not buy real estate there, as it has been rapidly losing value.

I have a few friends who live in the Lake Barcroft area (and I used to live further up Columbia Pike on the Arlington County side of Baileys Crossroads). It's convenient to shopping (especially Trader Joes!) There are plenty of back roads through Falls Church.

Let me speak for about half the regulars....we are not annoyed!

We're just concerned that a newcomer might take you seriously...

Well, we actually decided on a TH just off Columbia Pike halfway between Leesburg Pike and Lincoln Rd -- basically, Lilian Carey Park will be our backyard. Hope we like the location because we locked it in today...

I'm sure it will be fine. How long is your lease? That will give you some time to learn the area and decide where you really want to be. You will love being so close to Trader Joes though! Great store!!

Lease is a standard 12 month because we really don't want to move again if we can avoid it and we were very comfortable about the details about the TH based on the photos and the MRIS listing data.

And, yes, we are looking forward to living close to Trader Joes -- I'm an avid cook and my wife and I are looking forward to having access to a real grocery store again.

Quite honestly, there is so much to do around here that you aren't home that often. As long as the neighborhood is fairly safe and the TH is to your liking, you will be fine. Do they have a pool? You might need that to cool down in the summer. An early Welcome to NOVA. Despite the traffic issues, horrible drivers and crappy grocery stores, it really is a beautiful place and filled with SO much to do! Make sure you check out Wolf Trap. You and your wife might enjoy some concerts there. We just bought tickets for a couple of shows this summer.
