Crime? heh literally non existant. I love reading the police blotter in the newspaper here... Haymarket/Gainesville/Bristow. It's short and usually consists of people leaving expensive items in plain sight in vehicle (probably unlocked too). Just use common sense and you'll be fine.

They are both very nice communites and offer everything a family could possibly want in a neighborhood. DV has what basically equates its own elem. school and will soon have its own middle school. Both communities feed into Battlefield High School. If I was to rank them, DV would rank #1, but Piedmont isn't too far behind. They are also both on the north side of route 29, which has been seperating itself from the south side of 29 over the past year as the more desirable area to live. Both communities will soon be serviced by their own exit off of 66, so you will be able to take quite a bit of time off of a commute on 66.

As Heather said, crime is non existant here.

Hey Robert
My husband & I are in the process of buying a house on Piedmont Vista Dr. It seems like a really nice community. Is it a friendly place? We're starting a new life in a strange place away from family. =0(

There's very minimal crime in the Haymarket, Gainesville, and Bristow areas. The more important concern is commute - if either of you are going to be commuting, it could be very tough for you. Why don't you post what town(s) you'll be commuting to, if any, and we can chime in with the commute times? That's the major determining factor in deciding to move to western Prince William County, not the crime rate.
