You're better off driving. If you can get into the office early, and leave the office early, the drive won't be too bad. I commuted to/from Baltimore for 3 years, and you get used to it.

Time-wise, you're going to have to go take a train, then switch to metro, then catch a bus. Not exactly a time saver.

I have a friend that was working at Freddie and lives in Crofton, MD--about 15 min from the metro line. He said that he had to drive because there wasn't a good way for him to get to the office using public transportation. My wife has a 1-2 hour commute in Chicago and it is not fun at all--for her it hasn't been a matter of getting used to it...

Take MARC train from BWI to DC Union Station. (You can also ride Amtrak, but it costs much more).
http:// mta.maryland.gov/marc-train

Then ride Red line metrorail from Union Station, get off at Metro Center station and transfer to Orange line train to West Falls Church. http://www.wmata.org

Metrobus route B30, http://www.wmata.com/bus/timetables also goes from BWI to Greenbelt metrorail station, but this would be slower than riding MARC train.

Are you just bumping old threads in the hope of getting a rental? This was from 2010.
