Moving back to the dunes for a bit and am in the process of lining up utilities. When we left a few years ago, COMCAST had a monopoly on the phone/cable/internet market, and as often follows-had horrible, frustrating customer service. Is this still the case? Are they still the only option in NW Indiana?

AT&T is another option. I can't say which is better in quality and service, I'm just on the verge of moving there too. Where I am now I know Comcast cable service has improved quite a bit over the last several years.

I am sure it is different depending on what city you live in, but we live in Hobart and we have our bundle through Verizon. We pay under $120 a month for home phone (w long distance), internet (at the fastest speed) and Directv (with DVR and HD).

When we moved out here (Porter Co.) a decade ago, AT&T was the only non-dialup internet provider ... now, AT&T no longer services our area and our only choice for bundled service is Comcast.

Verizon has been saying for YEARS that it will be available ... but not yet.

I think it really depends on WHERE in NWI you are ...

ETA: I see you said the Dunes ... quite positive for bundles, Comcast is it.
