No its really not, Some people have very mixed opinions about Gary. I personally think its a very nice place. Like any city anywhere there is going to be crime, but at some places it happens more than often. Gary toned down a lot from the previous years. . .

You must be in that 1% of people that are in denial that Gary is a craphole. Even Micheal Jackson wont go home.
