I'm thinking about attending school at Indiana University in Gary, - driving there daily from my home an hour away. Does anyone have any feedback about the area crime? I would'nt want to risk my life to go to school there--the program I'm interested in is only offered there as the closest location.

I wouldn't rate trips to the IUN campus in Gary as life-risking or life-threatening. If you think the commitment (time, finances, etc) is worth the potential reward, then you should enroll in the program. Concern for safety should not alter your decision. GL!

Most of the student body and faculty commute from outside Gary, so hey. They're still breathing, so obviously it's not as bad as it's made out to be.
