Default munster

I have looked and found Munster schools are highly rated as well. How would I search to see the average price for a 2-3 bedroom rental? Thanks for all the help

Seeing your dilema - I would choose Munster. Rentals, in this economy, will run 900-1200/mo. Check zillow-dot-com for Munster rentals.

If snow is a big concern for you, and he'll be traveling throughout Chicagoland for work, I would suggest being as close to the IL/IN border as possible. Remember that crossing from one end of Chicagoland to the other (from NW Indiana to Gurnee or Schaumburg, for instance) might sometimes be a two hour journey. The more centralized you are, the better.

In Indiana, the choices that stand out to me are Highland and Munster. Lake County is a good choice, for quality-of-life, and economics, but the closer you are to I-94 and the border, the more time you'll have for your family. Schererville to me would be just a little bit too far.

summmer 22 has summed this up
please please keep in mind that the chicago metro can and does sometimes take hours to cross
I cant stress this fact enough you would be so much better off in a central location vs. being isolated on the outskirts of the area
try the drive from schererville to gurnee il sometime and then decide where you would want to be located that drive is a nightmare

If you're going to work in Gurnee, then it's ludicruous to try driving from Indiana. You need to look into Wisconsin instead.

Okay so where in Chicago will be working- location wise.
Only point I was trying to state is traffic can really tie you up in the area
what seems to be a very short distance on a map can be a very long commute

I stayed in NWI for a while and commuted to the loop and it just was a long long way and wore me down.

Places like Crown Point , Dyer etc are nice but it can make in for a brutal drive day in and day out.

The Dan Ryan is one of the only routes to the city and trust me its gridlock on morning commutes unless you leave at 5 am
