Not many white people. I would be very concerned for my safety.

Miller is okay, aetna/glen ryan are so-so
They are slowing coming back within the last five years. Actually closer to Marquette park, they have never left. I moved there back when just about all white people lived in the area, it's pretty well mixed now. But its still a nice place to live in most areas.

Just because an area isn't all of the caucasian persuasion, doesn't mean it's high crime.

Maybe I should have quoted the OP. Or maybe you should have read the OP's post.

Direct answers to the OP questions.
Gary is a high crime city regardless of race. Miller is probably the best part of Gary, Aetna or Miller are not safe places to raise a family. Gang shooting's, drug deals, etc.
I have lived and worked in and near Gary for 30+ years. Racism is alive and well there. No need to hide it. Tell the truth.
If the OP chooses to locate there so be it. The OP may be looking for a safe place to bring the family. Help the OP find it. There are better choices than East Gary for safe family friendly living.

Wherever there are no black people, basically. Let's not sugarcoat it.

Miller is fairly mixed -- there are a fair amount of white people there. And yes, there are whites that live in Aetna, too, but only a tiny, tiny handful.

For those on here not old enough to remember, Lake Station used to be called East Gary. Cant blame them for changing the name.

The Liverpool area of Lake Station is pretty scary.
