True but Walmart probably has had their eyes on many (potential) new store sites for years, but has been fought aggressively by locals and governments.

The owner of the bowling alley isn't going to do that unless they have a buyer for the property, and nobody is going to pay for a property that would need that kind of investment, unless the location is highly desirable. And Tri City isn't desirable.

It's a Catch 22.
LOL I was talking about putting another tenant there 40 years or so ago as soon as the bowling alley closed, not after all these decades of decay.

Why the "LOL"? Was it supposed to be even more dangerous a neighborhood in 1975 than it is now? I would have to think it was at least a little bit safer then. After all, crack cocaine (which spelled the death of many peaceful urban neighborhoods) didn't exist until the 1980s.

Because I used to live in Brunswick, and know first hand that it wasn't that safe.

Depends when one was born. Tri city in the 90's on not the best. Earlier on was one of the spots on the west side.
