Where do I go on the internet to determine the property taxes for either commercial or residential property ??

I'm not sure you'll get a straight answer anywhere. Property taxes in Indiana are still not worked out.

I am also looking to buy a house and I am trying to find some kind of chart that has each cities property taxes.

If you find one, please let me know too!

For Lake & Porter counties you can find all the tax info online with each separate assessor & treasurer. But you'll need to have the property address.

For house searches, use www.gniarmls.com - it's the NWI Realtor's MLS site.

It's true that the taxes are all screwed up. The best you can do is look on the County Assessors web site. Click on the "guest access" button and follow it from there. You will need to know either the address or owners name or tax ID number.

This is the link to Lake County. Half of the time when you click on the "tax record" to get the actual tax amount, it doesn’t work! The other half of the time it does.
