Northwest Outdoor Wedding Locations
Hi, I'm helping my sister plan her wedding and we're looking for outdoor wedding locations. Also outdoor receptions. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi there ...
An outdoor location for reception will be tough - and could get tremendously expensive with tent rental, tables, chairs, onsite catering, blah blah blah. The only place that I know of in NWI that does receptions outdoors under a tent is Meyer's Castle in Dyer. But I have heard MANY MANY bad things about the quality of service & general cleanliness of that facility.
An outdoor ceremony is a lot easier - in fact, many NWI banquet facilities have gazebos onsite for ceremonies. Off the top of my head the following banquet halls have outdoor ceremony space: Sand Creek Country Club (Chesterton), Avalon Manor (Merrillville), Patrician Banquets (Chesterton), Aberdeen Manor (Valparaiso), Croatian Center (Merrillville), Waterbird Banquests (Chesterton).
You can also have an outdoor ceremony at Deep River Park (Merrillville), Taltree (Valparaiso), Coffee Creek (Chesterton).
Hope this helps!

My friend's sister was married at the Inn at Aberdeen in Valparaiso. I've stayed there and it's a lovely place for an intimate wedding indoors, if the weather goes south and the grounds are also beautiful for an outdoor service. I think they will work with you too ....

The St John Township Center in Schererville (I know, weird) does outdoor weddings. I had mine there and the reception inside and it was nice and fairly cheap. The gazebo space for an outdoor wedding doesn't more than 125 though.
