Smile places to eat or shop in rensselaer?

Hi,

Meeting my family in Rensselaer this coming w/end because its halfway between Indy and Chicago. Have never been to Rensselaer. Can anyone recommend somewhere good to eat and spend a few hours in the afternoon, like a mall or movie theatre or bowling ally?

Thanks! Deb

I can tell that you have never been there. For one year I belonged to a National Guard unit there. I'm sure that there are places to eat there, but I can't recommend one.

Things to do????

The town is TINY. I think that you might be disappointed

Head up I-65, to Route 30, in Merrillville, less then a half hour away. There's a huge mall, and every chain store and restaurant you can imagine.
