Ladies....hair salon recommendation, Hobart/Merrillville? (Portage, Griffith: appointed, prices, Walmart)

Can anyone recommend a good salon in the Hobart, Merrillville area? I am not looking for anywhere crazy expensive though. Thanks for the help!!!

It's only natural that Stephanie Harden's response is biased about the salon she recommended since she w-o-r-k-s there. That's not to say it's not a good place to go, but it's not uncommon for every stylist to feel THEIR salon is the greatest. I think the original poster was looking for opinions from regular customers that are willing to recommend places that they've been to and got a great service. She also expressed she wasn't looking for anyplace expensive and $60.00 a haircut is kinda pricey.

Yeah, I looked went to the Bang Bang website, and $60 for a haircut is WAY overpriced, at least for me. I am sure the salon is wonderful, but out of my league.

Soto's in Portage is good. My favorite. But if I'm in a hurry and want a quickie I go to the place in front of Walmart in Portage on hwy#6. They are very reasonable, sorry I can't remember the name. My last haircut from there was GREAT. But of course...like I said Soto's is my favorite. 5 star imho. And I don't work there.

I go to Fast Eddie's in Hobart. Erica has cut my hair every time and does a great job. The price is about as low as you get too. I was a little hesitant going to a cheap place but I have to say even though I've moved since I started going there I drive out of my way to have Erica cut my hair.

Nope - if Ben is cutting your hair $60 is way underpriced ... Ben gives a haircut worth HUNDREDS.

He's cut my hair on & off since the 90s ... first in Lansing, then Homewood and then he showed up on the t.v. show Shear Genius where he came in 2nd. (I think he was 2nd - either 2nd or 3rd.)

By far the VERY BEST HAIRCUT ever. EVER EVER.

And ... he's flippin' funny too.

ETA: Just realized this thread is from April. So I'm pretty sure the OP has gotten a haircut since then. LOL!
