Default Preschools

We just moved to the area and are looking for a Pre-K program for our 4 year old in the Hobart area. Does anyone have any recommendations as to somewhere that is great, or somewhere to completely avoid? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm not familiar with the area, but I would suggest making sure that the child care center or facility is NAEYC accredited. It's the national association for the education of young children and the center has to be exceptional in order to receive and KEEP this accredidation.

Another thing to consider when looking at the facility is to choose a place that will take you on a tour as a drop-in parent...those who encourage you to schedule an appointment will tell their employees and changes will be made during your visit there. I teach preschool and have my master's in early childhood education...I have worked in and experienced way too many preschool programs that change the curriculum, attention, and interaction with the children just while parents are there to observe.

You may want to try http://www.KidzSchoolFinder.com to start.

Good Luck!
