Moving to Merrillville
I recently took a job in Merrilliville, and I am now looking for a places to rent. Does anybody have info on the local apartment complexes, places or areas of th city to avoid, or just general information. I'm a 25 year old single male so I'm not so 'quiet residential' communities are really a big selling point with me. Do any of the local colleges have a supporting community, or are thy too small?

Try St. John, perhaps Schererville. Merrillville/Gary isn't the best of places with respect to being "quiet".

Opps, I meant to say that a quiet community is NOT a bit selling point.
I'm trying to stay clear of Gary because of its reputation. Is Merrillville about the same?

My daughter's godfather used to work in Merrillville and lived in Winfield/Crown Point. He made it to work in 15 minutes.
