Want waterfront, w/ Good Schools & close to Chgo
Want to live near lake, rivers, lagoon's - as large a body of water as possible. Something beautiful where we would never want to leave. We make our money in Illinois, would need a very reasonable driving commute. Checked out Miller, would need specific school recommendations for Miller. Checked out Hobart, lovely, but seemed a little far. Any suggestions?

I said this in the other thread but I think for what you want, your best best is most likely Chesterton.
Good school system, the ease of the South Shore train station being there, right by the expressways and a short jog up 49 to the beach.

If you want good public schools close to the water, yes, Chesterton would be your best bet. But if private schools are an option ... the world is your oyster in NW Indiana.
