Default Where to Buy Furnature?

Looking to furnish our new house but only store I can find is IKEA or Ashley. Looking for good quality that wont break the bank. Tried Craiglist but people want hundreds of dollars for things I would take to the dump. Thanks for the advice!

Which town are you living in? There are many places in Merrillville, Valparaiso. Chicago is always an option also. What style/period of furniture are you hoping to find?

Crown Point, and would prefer to stay in IN, taxes are cheaper here! I like traditional/contemporary yet modern. More straight lines, but nor stale or boring.

Our furniture store of choice was Bay Furniture. They have, or used to have a store on 30 in merrillville ... most of our stuff came from there ... we've had it for over 10 years.

When we wanted to buy a sofa for our basement, I checked out craigslist. That was pretty funny. I was amazed that people wanted 300 dollars for a 70's gold floral sofa. I mean...REALLY?

I bought a IKEA sofa. My family room furniture is from Macy's. I know a lot of people think Macy's is very expensive but it was quite comparable to Value City and other furniture store chains with the exception of quality. Our Macy's furniture is great and still looks new after 3 yrs. Delivery is outstanding as well. Bought our living room furniture from Value City (Macy's in South Bend area doesnt have a furniture dept) and I can tell the stuff isnt going to last. Horrible customer service and wont ever go there again.
