Hi all ,
I want to know the paper shredding advantages and disadvantages.

I would worry about such companies---what assurance do you have they won't go through your papers, even sell them to third parties? Unless you have a ton of papers, I would prefer to shred them myself.

also, this is a bit OT, but I always remove the labels from my perscription bottles before throwing them away. Did you ever really look at them? There's a ton of information, including your name, address, doctor's name, name of medicine, etc. You don't need that falling into the wrong hands, especially for a controlled substance.

I soak the bottles until the label loosens, then scrape it off, then make sure the label is shredded, too. also, make sure to shred all that paperwork the pharmacy gives you, your name, perscription and other identifying info is written on each page I really don't need people to know that controlled substances live here

I do that, too! I also do my own shredding. But I did take 4 bags to the city of Hammond recycling once. You get to stand there and watch them being shredded. Actually, I thought the companies that do shredding let you watch, too? Not sure...
