My husband and I are well off and we have just moved to Oahu Hawaii. We live in the 96821 Area and wanted to know what is the best school for wealthy kids to go to?

Our daughters are 10 and 14 respectively we don't want to them to go a lesser school because they will get bullied due to their status in life. We are originally from Newport Beach California.

Does anyone know of the best private school to send our kids?

That zip is around Aina Haina, correct? Not a particularly wealthy area as far as Oahu real estate is concerned.

The best school is Punahou, but many of the long established private schools are well used to wealth and power in the parents of the student body. These include Iolani, St Louis, Sacred Hearts and of course Kamehameha (but unless your kids have Hawaiian blood you need to look elsewhere).

You need to go to each of the schools that you are considering and ask the questions that are important to YOU. Keep in mind that your kids will have to take the proper exams and pass the interviews. I would definitely keep your "status" out of the conversation since I can guarantee that it will NOT impress the entrance committee!

Amen to that. Once again, a prudent suggestion about life and living in HI.

Punahou is generally considered the best school on Oahu. There is also Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Waimea on the Big Island which is the equivalent of Punahou. They are a boarding school and have horses with equitation classes and English saddles and such and are in a much more rural environment than Honolulu.

See if you can join either the Outrigger Canoe club, the Waikiki yacht club or the Oahu Country Club, those folks may be your peer group and they will know the best schools. Hmm, most of their kids go to any of the schools mentioned with Punahou and HPA being the top two.

We are just staying at this house until we find a suitable house to buy. What is the best real estate to buy? we want to stay close to Waikiki.

Is this school any good for kids 10 and 14 years old? President William McKinley High School. I am trying to find Elementary school as well as high school for my kids.

The real estate in Kahala/Diamond Head, Waialaeiki, Portlock, lanikai, Round Top, etc are lovely places to live. Wealthy on the Mainland rarely is the same as wealthy on Oahu.

Good luck with your search for both a home and a school.

If you can afford it, Black Point is nice and it's very near Waikiki.

Wow. You're all over the place. North Shore schools aren't too hot, so maybe you should determine where the kids will go to school and buy accordingly.
