I have a job offer at a private school and they are willing to provide living space in a two bedroom apt...shared with another teacher for $500 - which includes some utilities. I think thats a really good deal but I am 54 years old and a recent widow and really want a place of my own even if its really small. Is it just impossilbe to find? That is the one thing that is holding me back from taking the job which I think I would really like. I have lived in Hawaii several times before and am a dive instructor and know I would enjoy living there. Any ideas? You all are so helpful.

While very elusive, you can find really small 1bd apts for $1,000 in Mililani or around that area. Like anything, you get what you pay for.

Take the deal come over, start work settle in with provided housing then start a search for your own place would be my advice. Much eaiser when you are here than trying to find it before you arrive.
