There are about 65 Starbucks on Oahu, so unless you dislike that brand, you are in luck. No drive-through's that I know of, unless you like McDonalds brand of "gourmet" coffee.

I recall a particular Bikini Barista stand in Renton always being in the news when I lived in Bellingham.

To the OP: I would welcome a drive-thru espresso stand in town. Just don't know how well it could pay for the price of the land it would sit on. Maybe partner with a Gas station to use the corner of a lot? Good luck either way!

I found a story on the Bikini Barista's in Honolulu (and they wear lingerie also it looks like) - it also references the Kapiolani one I saw recently - seems to be more of these than I thought in Honolulu.

Hot Coffee:

Try some of the hostess bars on Kapiolani in the evening - they'll serve you green tea in much less if you prefer

Starbucks in Waipio Gentry (next to Costco) has a drive-through window...

Do you know how to make a small fortune opening your own business? Start with a large fortune!

Seriously, opening any business is risky, even if you know what you are doing. Opening a business you know nothing about is virtually guaranteeing failure.

I'd suggest the first thing you should do is to get a job working for an espresso place so you can learn something about how that business works. Even something that seems as simple as running a coffee cart can be a lot more complicated than you think. And I'd find a course in how to run a small business and take it. Most community colleges offer them.

Until you have learned something about running a business in general, and something about running a coffee business specifically, you're most likely to just waste your time and effort and money.

Good luck!

OpenD's post is totally valid (sorry, couldn't give you any more rep points for it, though). John H., you may also wish to contact SCORE, the Service Corp of Retired Executives, they offer free advice to small businesses. They have a branch in Honolulu.
