We live in Waipahu, HI and were considering trying to open a drive-thru espresso stand somewhere in central oahu. We have noticed that there are only Starbucks everywhere.. In the Mainland drive-thru espresso stands are very successful. I have never owned or operated a business of my own but who really like to open one. I am not sure if there is a reason why no one has opened a stand in hawaii yet, but any helpful information would be great.

I saw someone that beat you to it recently - one of those food trucks doing coffee/espresso served by women in bikini's off of Kapiolani by Blaidsdell. Made for a morning eye opener.

yep, and they've been doing those drive-thru coffee places in Seattle for awhile now with the Bikini girls even in winter.

The place I saw was a food truck - so not a drive-thru - you get served by the Bikini girl - you have to get out of your car.

First time I saw it here in Honolulu just last week (or maybe 2 weeks ago)

See, and you keep talking about the lack of employment opportunities in HI.

JUST KIDDING!

Well, this one's not in Hawaii, it's in San Diego, but it gives one something to think about. Cafe HAPA - San Diego's Only Bikini Cafe

yep, the smoking hot females in their 20s seem to have less of a problem finding employment than their less attractive counterparts - that just isn't a Hawaii thing.

Yup we have a lot of these bikini baristas here in WA, though they're constantly getting busted for solicitation, because (gasp) they offer to show their ta'tas, I think if our cops ever went to New Orleans they'd die of a heart attack.

We have a rampant drug problem, but our Boys in Blue have a priority in going after big crime, like jay walking (you don't want to be 14 year girl being ticket by 6'2 200lb cop cause he might feel intimidated and be forced to deck you), oh and then there is urgent need to go to strip clubs and buy lap dances (on the tax payer dime) to see if those gals will offer a little more....I wish I was joking (sigh).

Sorry-mini rant, but I was interested to hear about this lack of drive through caffeine providers, I don't use them very often, but I like knowing that they are there, it's like a safety net

there is a drive through coffee spot on maui in the home depo parking lot. I have never seen a car there. if you have never owned a business yourself, you might want to start with finding out if it can turn a profit. just because something is a good idea doesn't make it profitable. find out how many coffees you can sell in a day what profit is there and is it enough to pay your space rent, fees and paycheck. if you rarely go to them yourself why do you think someone else would?
