Pet-friendly rentals on O‘ahu are scarce and getting scarcer. The Hawaiian Humane Society used to post a list of pet-friendly rentals on its website, but it's now just a shell of its former self because there are so few being posted.

From what I've heard that the majority of homes/apts don't have central AC and that it doesn't get too hot b/c of the breeze but I'm skeptical... I didn't have central AC the 4 years I lived in Jamaica and it was pretty unbearable most of the time.

I've actually never had AC for decades, and generally could get away with ceiling fans and a strategically placed Vornado or two. And that while working from home in the hottest parts of the day. But I sure could use a room AC over the past few days...and maybe it's my imagination, but the last few years it seems hotter, more humid, and the trade winds haven't provided as much relief.
