Aloha

Can anyone recommend a good Sporting Goods store in Oahu?
The only one I know of is sports authority, but I'm trying to find a place w/ better deals.
I'm planning to buy a basketball, basketball shoes, and a tennis racket.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Back in the day there were smaller independent sporting good store in downtown Honolulu and in Ala Moana Center. They are long gone. Maybe Sears carries some of these items but very limited selection. There is always the Internet. Good luck.

Sports Authority is your best bet for what you are looking for.

All the big-box stores (Walmart, Kmart, Target) have a sporting section with those common items. Sports Authority may (or may not) have a better selection and better quality, depending on your needs.

For outdoor adventure (hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, etc.) there is a specialized store in a mall over on the windward side, but I can't remember the name right now.

Aloha aloha,

for specialty tennis, check out Waipahu Tennis Raquet www.yelp.com/biz/waipahu-racquet-surf-and-sports-honolulu. a bit hard to find... on King Street, after you pass Washington Middle School, and then Zippy's, slow down, it will be about 20 yards on your right. On the 2nd floor above a bar.

in the area is McCully Bicycle & Sporting Goods www.yelp.com/biz/mccully-bicycle-and-sporting-goods-honolulu-2. They have a good variety to include tennis/basketball/diving/fishing.

for other sports like football/soccer/wrestling/jujitsu (or just to check out a local sporting shop) take a look at Cardinal Sports www.yelp.com/biz/cardinal-sports-honolulu

while you are in the neighborhood, might as well stop by Soccer Locker, which is just a couple blocks away on Kapahulu Ave www.yelp.com/biz/soccer-locker-and-sports-honolulu
