ALL,

I am being offered a pretty serious promtion by my company that would take me to Joint Base Hickam/Pearl. I do not have a clue about the area and was looking for inside feedback on what are good areas to find a studio apartment or a 1 bedroom. I dont need a ton of space, as a matter of fact I prefer not having a ton of space. I want to be in a place where I can park my vehicle and be fairly close to the base. ANY info you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I will be there next week for 10 days to check the place out and get a feel for wether I want to take on this promotion.

Thanks again, I look forward to your advice!

Salt Lake, Aiea, Pearl City come to mind close to Hickam. You could also consider Kailua/Kaneohe on the windward side if you wanted a less conjested area - you'd want to be near the H3 freeway if you wanted to consider the windward side.

Nuuanu is my favorite town. Close to the airport/Hickam, walking distance to downtown, but kind of has a country feel to it.. My record from my lanai to the airport, without speeding, was just over 10 minutes, hard to beat, (without getting a ticket)

Aloha
