I remember and thats why i care about friends and ohana overthere.
I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about the media and message boards that manapua12 was referencing earlier. Not saying that there haven't been big storms, or that this one can't cause alot of damage, but most of uswhere I live at least who have been through a few hyped up tropical storms and low category hurricanes ourselves aren't the ones who are all reacting that way... I'm just saying as someone who lives in an area that gets hit by tropical storms and hurricanes more than once a decade, we also get a lot of news outlets and people in the rest of the country freaking out about our safety, when there's just a storm coming that won't even distrupt work for the day. I mean, it's a tropical storm, not a hurricane, and it is weakening and the conditions don't favor it gaining any strength as it passes over the islands.

8:17 pm.. Unclawed one of the cats, hulu huelo, off the screen door after using a spatula to get Ele popoki off the ceiling.. geckos are seeking shelter under the cockroaches. Thinking I quit drinking a little too soon...
Nearly 8:30 pm, Waikoloa/West Hawaii, the drizzle and rain has stopped for now. It was never more than a hard rain at most. It is still warm, and humid, and overcast. But the storm has [luckily] done no more than given us some much needed rain. All's well here.
I expect the centipedes to start their nocturnal activities soon, and due to the moisture in the yard, have at least one find its way into my house so that I get some "centipede hunt" action.
