I always feel sorry for the mainland people to be freezing their okoles off. Some of them seem to enjoy it, though, so hopefully most of them are having fun with the snow. I'm also not sure about those weather people on the TV. They show pictures of horrible blizzards, snow up to roof eaves, etc., etc, but when I call people I know in those areas it always seems that the weather isn't actually as bad as it seems on the TV. Either that or all the folks I know are sensible enough to stay out of it.

The vast majority of the people in the cold climates don't like the winters. People just put up with the lousy cold and snowy weather. There's a tiny segment of the population in the cold climate areas that actually like winters. By April or May, even the hardcore people who love cold and snowy winters are sick and tired of it.

When I'm visiting a warmer climate in the winter, and I see bad weather in another part of the country, or even another part of the world, I'm always glad I'm not there. I don't know how I could see a story on TV about bad weather or some other disaster, and just think nothing.
