I'm moving to Hawaii in a few months and was thinking about switching from AT&T to Verizon wireless. Can anyone tell me how these two compare on Oahu? Specifically are the data speeds slow because of congestion. I will be working on Ft. Shafter and commuting over from Kaneohe.

AT&T does much of their testing of cell towers here on Oahu (due to the mountains and sea, they use the testing to use as best practices on the mainland) so the island is blanketed well with AT&T.

Whenever I've opened up the same web pages at the same time with the few people I know on Verizon, the AT&T pages always opened much faster on LTE.

Ok, thanks. I was hoping that Verizon would be at least as good. Sounds like I'll stick with AT&T.

Does everyone else agree? My wife has Sprint and it sux! Can barely load a web page on her iPhone 4s, and that's out around town, in the mall, etc. She & I both plan to get iPhone 6 next week and we're also wondering which carrier to use. Hoping for a family plan since we will both get new contracts. Is AT&T the way to go? Will all providers offer that VoLTE thing where you can switch calls from cellular to wi-fi and back?
