The Oceanic homepage even advertises Ultimate Internet (100 Mbps) and Basic TV for $69.94
That's the promo rate. Regular (i.e. what you will be paying once the year is up) is about $140 including fees and a set top box. Keep in mind that ALL advertised rates are promos... they will revert to the normal cost in 6-12 months under all circumstances.
OP, expect to pay $200 for electricity with very, very minimum AC use. Be aware that our humidity levels are markedly higher than that in AZ so you may be used to "dry" heat but here the humidity is what causes people to crank up their AC units - not the air temp per se. If our humidity levels were on par with AZ we would very rarely need AC at all. Also note that it never really gets cold here like it does in AZ... AC is essentially required year round in condos with south exposure. If your condo is facing the ocean and has no cross ventilation you can expect to run the ac all year round. In that case you would need to budget a lot more than $200/mo. Closer to $300-$400 is typical for a 2 bdrm to make it tolerable/habitable.

Everyone can get the promo rates including current customers. You just need to call them. When the promo runs out. Call them back. Simply tell them you feel the prices are too high compared to the competition. I've never not gotten a rate reduction.
They will not let you cancel service without offering a deal.

Interesting strategy. So you consistently pay half the going rate by threatening to cancel every single year?
I didn't say I threaten to cancel. I said they won't let you cancel without offering a better deal.
I said call them - tell them you feel your rate is too high. They'll offer you a deal.
You miss all the shots you don't take.
And if you don't plan on moving, ask them how long you can lock that rate in for also. I told them (Comcast, but they're all the same) I didn't like their business plan of always having to negotiate pay rates and I just wanted to pay the rate I started at on installation. They locked me in for 2 years at my original rate which was $20 less than I had been paying and $40 less than they wanted.
So yes, if you don't negotiate, you're paying too much.

Isn't that the same thing? You're telling me you just call Oceanic and say "hey been thinking about my bill and you know, it's just too high" and Oceanic instantly says "well, we'll just cut your bill by 40%. Is that good for you Mr Viper?"
I have bulk subscriptions through Oceanic and never pay the "normal" rate. But again, this is because I have subscriptions in bulk (i.e. multiple accounts) and sign up for longer term contracts (generally 5 years) so my rates are reduced because of the unorthodox commitments made. I have friends that pay well over $100/mo for internet (standard speed) and standard cable service. Very rarely do I hear anyone paying less than $80 or $90 for both services and definitely not on any kind of permanent basis. It would be misleading to tout $70/mo for both cable and internet as nobody is paying that on a consistent basis.

Yeah - that is exactly what I am saying. And, after the part where I say I think the bill is too high, I say - I've noticed you have some promo rates online - what can you do for me?
They've always given me the courtesy of the promo rate. Without hesitation. Maybe because I have all the services - but, it is my experience.

That's good to know. May I ask what you pay now? And what's included? Maybe you get a good discount because you have a lot of extras. It's all margin based for Oceanic. They discount my bulk rates a bit more (percentage wise) if I add extras like more channels, HD, etc. I'm always looking to reduce my rates as I generally pay these services for my tenants.

I pay roughly $175 for 2 HD DVR boxes, standard internet (mine comes up roughly twice as fast as advertised speeds), Phone, HBO/Cinemax/Showtime/Starz/Epix

How is that a deal? Isn't that close to rack rate?
